Nissan Service and Repair Manual

What is a Factory Service Manual?

If you plan to do your own work on your Nissan, whether it be routine maintenance or more in-depth projects, you’ll want to have access to a Factory Service Manual (FSM). These manuals are significantly better, and more accurate, than a Haynes or Chiltons manual, since the information is developed by the manufacturer to be used by Nissan-trained technicians.

Nissan has produced an extensive range of mainstream cars and trucks, initially for domestic consumption but exported around the world since the 1950s.

It also produced several memorable sports cars, including the Datsun Fairlady 1500, 1600 and 2000 Roadsters, the Z-car, an affordable sports car originally introduced in 1969; and the GT-R, a powerful all-wheel-drive sports coupe.

In 1985, Nissan created a tuning division, Nismo, for competition and performance development of such cars. One of Nismo’s latest models is the 370Z Nismo.

Nissan also sells a range of kei cars, mainly as a joint venture with other Japanese manufacturers like Suzuki or Mitsubishi. Until 2013, Nissan rebadged kei cars built by other manufacturers. Beginning in 2013, Nissan and Mitsubishi shared the development of the Nissan DAYZ / Mitsubishi eK Wagon series. Nissan also has shared model development of Japanese domestic cars with other manufacturers, particularly Mazda, Subaru, Suzuki and Isuzu.

In China, Nissan produces cars in association with the Dongfeng Motor Group including the 2006 Nissan Livina Geniss, the first in a range of a new worldwide family of medium-sized car.

In 2010, Nissan created another tuning division, IPL, this time for their premium/luxury brand Infiniti.

In 2011, after Nissan released the Nissan NV-Series in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Nissan created a commercial sub brand called Nissan Commercial Vehicles which focuses on commercial vans, pickup trucks, and fleet vehicles for the US, Canadian, and Mexican Markets.[89]

In 2013, Nissan launched the Qashqai SUV in South Africa, along with their new motorsport Qashqai Car Games.

If you’ve bought a Nissan, then one of the smartest little investments that you can make in the well being of your vehicle, as well as that of your pocket, is to make the purchase of a Nissan repair manual. Keeping your Nissan running and looking its best requires attention to its suggested maintenance schedule and routine repairs. Many of these tasks are fairly simple, once you know how to do them, and a Nissan repair manual will be invaluable in helping you to do exactly that. Instead of paying the per hour rate and the usual parts price mark up that you pay at your local automotive service center, with your Nissan repair manual in hand to guide you, you can begin handling the most basic of the maintenance and repairs yourself and start saving money right away. The detailed, step-by-step instructions are written with your success in mind, and are complemented by numerous photos and diagrams. Once you master the simple procedures, your Nissan repair manual will help you through increasingly more complex repair tasks. Your Nissan repair manual will help you learn to diagnose trouble, as it features trouble shooting guides for the mechanical systems of your vehicle, and also features a maintenance schedule that will help you to keep current, which will help to prevent problems of the sort that could leave you stranded from sneaking up on you. Even if you choose not to do more than the basic regular maintenance and routine repairs on your vehicle, leaving the more complex tasks to the professionals, your Nissan repair manual will quickly pay for itself in what you save by doing the work yourself. In addition to the right Nissan repair manual for your vehicle, you’ll find a full range of Nissan parts and accessories in our online catalog, reasonably priced and readily available. You can order your Nissan repair manual online and download it right now!

Inside each FSM, you’ll find repair information that the dealer-trained service technicians use everyday. While the FSM is intended for professionally-trained technicians with high levels of automotive experience and skill, don’t let that scare you. Even if you’re not an advanced do-it-yourself owner, we’re here to help.

Another benefit of having an FSM on hand is that occasionally, reference will be made to special tools and other information uniquely known by the dealership service centers.

Yet another benefit to the FSM is that they often include additional troubleshooting tips, routine maintenance hints, and model-specific repair information.
